With heavy hearts and fond memories, we announce the passing of Sandra Rae Gould, affectionately known as Sandy or Nanny, on July 9, 2025. Sandra was born on February 20, 1949, in Hyrum, UT, USA. She was a compassionate, loving, and generous soul whose light illuminated all those who had the privilege of knowing her.
Sandra was known for her supportive nature. She had a 24-year career with the Internal Revenue Service in Ogden, Utah, where she retired from a supervisory role in 2013. Yet, her most cherished role was that of Nanny to her beloved granddaughters. She was a loving wife to her husband, William, for over 53 years, a caring mother to her sons, JL and Ryan, and a mentor to her daughters-in-law, Cassi and Nikki. Sandra was a pillar of strength and love to her granddaughters, Elsie and Makorzlyn. Sandra is also survived by her siblings, Kristie and Wayne Goodwin, Mike, and Kathy Allen, as well as her in-laws, Lee and Janette Gould. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dean and Jessie Allen, her brothers Richard and Kim Allen, and her in-laws James and Mildred Gould.
Sandra lived in various places including Roy, Hyrum, Ogden, Plain City, and North Ogden, but what mattered most to her was spending quality time with her family and watching her grandchildren grow. Her hobbies were her grandkids. As the writer Maya Angelou once said, "I sustain myself with the love of family," and this quote perfectly encapsulates Sandra's life.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Ben Lomond Cemetery, 526 East 2850 North, North Ogden, UT.
Please, share your memories, tributes, and photos of Sandra on her memorial page. Your stories will help keep her loving spirit alive in our hearts.
