Sandra Ann Himel was born May 1, 1952 in Thibodeaux, LA to the late Lorna Zeringue and Russell Himel Sr.
To know her was to love her, she possessed a kind and giving heart. She loved making handmade gifts full of love and personalization. She was sociable, loved meeting new people and getting to know them. Her honesty and bluntness made her a force of nature, but it always came from a place of love.
She was creative, loved crocheting, and cooking her family their favorite meals. She loved to bring laughter to those by telling stories about her daily adventures and funny stories about her family.
She was welcomed into Heaven on August 2, 2024 by her mother, Lorna S. Zeringue; father, Russell Himel Sr.; brother, Morgan Himel; and sister in-law, Clara Himel.
Those left to cherish her memory, a daughter Sandy Duhon; grandchildren, Joshua, Trinity (Jorian), Tatiana, and Ashley; great grandchildren, Serenity, Jasiah, Juliana, Zyiah, Joshua Jr. and Jorian Jr.; her children, Scott (Aline) Duhon & their children, Harry (Alicia) Duhon & their children, Shelly (Byron) Pitre & their children, one brother, Russell Himel Jr.
With respect to her wishes, cremation has been entrusted to Simple Traditions Funeral Home.
