Sandra Kositzke Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Valley Funeral Home - Appleton on Apr. 8, 2024.
Sandra Ann (Kaiser) Kositzke, age 77, passed away peacefully at Rennes Health and Rehabilitation Center in Appleton, WI.
Sandy was born on January 13, 1947 in Neenah, WI, daughter of the late Joseph and Ruth (Mauthe) Kaiser.
She attended St. Mary's elementary and high school (class of '65) in Menasha. Sandy married Dennis Kositzke on September 10, 1966. Together they had three sons-Brian, Scott and Craig.
In her younger years, Sandy did child care in her home where she met the Ware family (parents Steve and Maureen and their special son Stephen Reed Ware). They have remained cherished friends over the years. Sandy also cared for elderly clients until she worked at Menasha High School. She made lifelong friends there while selling tickets or food or snacks at events, walking halls/monitoring at lunchtime, supporting her sons' sports teams or just attending games.
Sandy loved Christmas and shopping in general. She shopped each year starting the day after Christmas! She was a loyal T J Maxx customer! She also enjoyed trips to casinos and Door County.
She is survived by husband Dennis Kositzke, sons Brian, Scott (Lisa), and Craig Kositzke, sister Noreen (Mike) James, sister-in-law Trish Kaiser, brothers-in-law Louis Quella and Dave Lotzer, cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, great nieces and great nephews, aunts Bea, Betty and Mary and special family members Michelle Kositzke, Harvey Michaelis and Dave Fisher.
She is preceded in death by: parents Joseph and Ruth Kaiser, in-laws Clara and Henry Kositzke, Uncle Ed Kaiser who lived with Sandy and Denny in his later years, brother Ron Kaiser, sisters Mary Lotzer, Susan Fisher and Joanne Quella, brother in law Eugene Kositzke as well as many dear aunts and uncles in the Mauthe, Kaiser and Kositzke families.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at 3:00 pm at Valley Funeral Home, 2211 N. Richmond St., Appleton, WI. Inurnment will be in St. Mary Cemetery in Menasha, WI.
Friends may call on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 from 1:00 pm until the time services at the funeral home.
Memorials to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, St Joseph's food pantry or Salvation Army Toys for Tots would make Sandy smile. Or sponsor a giving tree gift for a child next Christmas in her name!
A special thank you to all her lifelong friends, especially her Class of 65 girlfriends who included her in their monthly dinners and made sure she was well cared for as her health declined. Sandy so appreciated her care givers at Rennes and her United Health care team led by Dr. Stephen Knaus.
