Sandra Jeanne Kyer (nee Drinkard)
Sandra (Sandi) Jeanne Kyer, aged 78, of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio passed away Monday, February 10, 2025.
Sandi was the eldest of 5 children, born March 12, 1946 in Akron, Ohio, to the late Neil and Jeanne (Lusby) Drinkard. She was a 1964 graduate of Springfield High School, where she was active in the marching band with her younger sister Marti.
Sandi had a passion for living and being active. Throughout her life she engaged in recreational softball, bowling, skiing, hiking, motorcycling and even ziplining at age 70. She was an avid reader and loved to travel. Her favorite locations were Hawaii, Alaska and Mexico and taking cruises. She had a soft spot for the North Carolina mountains near the Blue Ridge Parkway, where she and her husband Rog made their home for over 25 years. She was also blessed to have lived in Sun City, Arizona, where her friends were abundant and she spent winters golfing.
Sandi was a self-taught entrepreneur and owner of The Branch Office in the 90's, providing office services for small and start-up businesses. She retired as a Financial Advisor from First Union Bank in Sparta, North Carolina.
Most of all, Sandi's main love was for her family. She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years in March, Rog Kyer, of Cuyahoga Falls; sons Scott (Carrie) Kyer of Stow; Jason (Natalia) Kyer of Cuyahoga Falls; daughter Lisa (Rick) Keatley of Canal Fulton; sisters Marti Jackson of Cuyahoga Falls; Terry Aitken of Durham, NC; brothers Len Drinkard of Peninsula; Jim Drinkard of Cuyahoga Falls; 11 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She will be missed.
Sandi's wishes were for cremation. A celebration of her life will be planned for a later date.
In lieu of flowers: memorial and tribute donations in Sandi's name may be made to the ALS Association, PO Box 37022, Boone, IA 50037-0022 or www.als.org.
