Sandy Lorei age 66, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 11, 2024, ending her battle with cancer.
Sandy was born February 25, 1957 in Meadville Pa, a daughter of the late Bernard and Doris Swavey.
Sandy graduated from McDowell High School in Erie and went on later to graduate from JH Thompson Beauty Academy in Cosmetology.
Sandy worked in the retail profession for over 25 years at stores in the Millcreek Mall: Joseph Hornes Co, Elder Beermans, JC Penney and Kauffman’s and Peebles at the Liberty Plaza.
Sandy was a long-time member of First Alliance CMA Church in Erie. Sandy was a dedicated volunteer serving in various capacities in Ushering, First Impression Team, Greeting and the Community Impact Team. She was part of the Homebuilders/Marriage Builders Class for many years and the support ministry that called on the elderly and shut ins during Covid and after. Sandy was also part of the Living Hope Cancer Support Group that provided continual support to cancer victims and survivors and their caregivers.
She enjoyed spending time camping, taking walks with her dog Cody and riding bikes and watching sunsets with her husband Bill at Presque Isle. Sandy had a passion throughout her life in craftmaking and gardening.
Sandy was one of the sweetest persons on earth and will be forever missed by whoever encountered her.
Sandy is survived by her husband of 41 years , Bill Lorei; two brothers :Steve (Barb) Swavey, Shawn (Rochelle) Swavey, one sister Suzanne Miller (Tom),four nieces , Sara Weiss( Jim) , Michelle Swavey, Kelly Miller , Erika Swavey, four nephews , Steve Swavey, Ryan Miller (Jaci), Jake Swavey and Alan Swavey; several great nieces and nephews; mother in law , Denise Lorei; brothers and sister and nephew in law- Pat Lorei(Nanci) , Mike Lorei (Denise) , Judy Lorei ( Laurie Rhoades) Brian Lorei.
The family would to thank Dr.Tayshetye and all the nursing staff at St Vincent AHN Cancer Center for their compassion and dedication over the past three years.
Friends may call at the First Alliance Church 2939 Zimmerly Road, Erie, PA 16506 on Wednesday, January 17th from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m.
Arrangements are under the care of the Burton Quinn Scott Cremation and Funeral Services, West Ridge 3801 W. 26th Street, Erie, PA 16506.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society or First Alliance Church.
