Sandra Louise Loy

Sandra Louise Loy, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on February 5, 2024, at the age of 78. She was born on September 5, 1945, in New Martinsville, WV, to the late Walter and Harriet (Allison) Jennings. Sandra's kind spirit and loving nature touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Sandra dedicated many years of her life to her work at Central Processing in Wheeling Hospital before retiring. However, it was her love for her family and her passions outside of work that truly brought her joy. Sandra cherished spending time with her loved ones, especially her grandchildren, who held a special place in her heart. She enjoyed taking bus tours with friends, going on family vacations, and making memories at the beach. Sandra's selflessness extended beyond her family as she was a former volunteer with the food programs at Simpson United Methodist Church and attended Ash Avenue Church of God when she was well.
Sandra's kindness and compassion will be deeply missed by all. In addition to her parents, Sandra was preceded in death by her beloved husband of over 52 years, Donald Robert Loy, and several brothers and sisters as Sandra was 1 of 22 children. She is survived by her siblings: Donnie (Jan) Sapp, Shirley Van Scyoc, Betty Allman, and Linda Greathouse; her devoted children: Trina D. Wells, Cindy (James) Hindman, and Donnie (Sherry) Loy; her beloved grandchildren: Rachel (Kenny) Haas, Theresa Whitlatch, Anissa Wells, Audrey Neal, Danay Loy, and Connor Loy; as well as her precious great-granddaughter, Emily Haas; Nanny's spirit and legacy lives on through them.
Services to honor Sandra's life will be held as follows: Visitation will take place on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm, and on Thursday, February 8, 2024, from 11:00 am until the time of the service at 12:00 pm. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2024, at 12:00 pm, with Rev. Plogger as Celebrant at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Lutes & Kirby-Vance Chapel, 118 Grant Ave., Moundsville, WV. Following the funeral, Sandra will be laid to rest at Craigs Chapel Cemetery in New Martinsville, WV.
Sandra Louise Loy was a remarkable woman who touched the lives of many with her kindness, love, and dedication. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. May her soul find eternal peace, and may her family and friends find comfort in the beautiful memories they shared together.
