Sandra Kay Martinsen, 71, of Spring, Texas, passed away peacefully surrounded by those who loved her. She was born in Lisbon, North Dakota (Sargent County) to Henry and Marlys Martinsen and grew up alongside her brothers, David, Larry, and Wayne. From an early age, Sandy was known for her caring nature, gentle spirit, and deep love for family — qualities that would define her throughout her life.

Sandy attended the University of North Dakota, where she was a proud member of the Phi Mu fraternity. Her time there gave her lifelong friendships and nurtured her sense of compassion and service. She later earned her bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, beginning a career that would become her calling.

For more than twenty years, Sandy served as an occupational therapist with the Harris County Department of Education in Spring ISD. Through her work, she touched countless lives — guiding, encouraging, and empowering her students and their families. She had a remarkable ability to see potential where others saw limitations and was admired for her patience, creativity, and unwavering dedication. Her colleagues remember her as both a mentor and a friend, someone whose quiet strength and genuine heart made every day brighter.

Outside of her work, Sandy’s life was filled with joy and simple pleasures. She loved gardening and could make anything grow, her “green thumb” bringing beauty and life to every space she touched. She had a passion for traveling, exploring new places, and sharing those experiences with the people she loved. But above all, her greatest joy was found in her family. She cherished every moment spent with her daughter, Nicole, her son-in-law, Josh, and especially her three granddaughters, Sofia, Brielle, and Raven. To them, she was not only “Grandma,” but a source of endless love, wisdom, and laughter.

Sandy will be remembered for her kindness, her quiet strength, and the way she made everyone feel special and seen. Her presence was a gift, her love a steady light that will continue to shine through all who knew her.

She is survived by her daughter, Nicole Langlinais, and son-in-law, Josh, as well as her beloved granddaughters, Sofia, Brielle, and Raven. She is also survived by her brothers, David, Larry, and Wayne, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends who will carry her memory in their hearts.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all who have offered love, prayers, and support during this time. Sandy’s life was a beautiful testament to compassion, faith, and the power of a loving heart — a legacy that will continue to bloom in those she leaves behind.
