Sandra Lee Mellott, age 81, of Wayne, Ohio passed away peacefully on Monday, January 29, 2024, at St. Clare Commons Nursing Home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 8, 1942, in Fostoria to the late Richard & Dorothy (Danner) Cole. Sandra first married Richard Noble, and they later divorced. She then married David Mellott, and he preceded her in passing on November 15, 2018.
Surviving Sandra are her children, Michael (Tina) Noble of Waterville, Dan Noble of Toledo, Kim (Alan) Belcher of Perrysburg; step-children, Brian Mellott of Findlay, Jarrod Mellott of Findlay, Laura (Rob) Greer of Findlay; brother, Ron Cole of California; grandchildren, Wyatt (Amanda) Ault, Joshua (Shelby) Charney, Joseph Baker, Jonathan Baker, Emily (Allen) Bianchi; and great-grandchildren, Korbyn, Karmyn, Koltyn, Arielle, Amelia, and Arlo. She was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, David; sister, Sue Loomis; and granddaughter, Nicole Ault.
Sandra was a 1960 graduate of Fostoria High School, and then worked as a Custodian at BGSU for many years. Among many hobbies over the years, she had a passion for art, painting, crocheting, and anything racing, especially Sprint & Nascar Races. She was also an avid Ohio State Buckeye's fan, and had a great love for cats, specifically kittens.
Friends will be received for a Memorial Visitation from 1-3 PM on Sunday, February 4, 2024, at Barndt Funeral Home in Wayne, Ohio, where a Memorial Celebration of Life Service will begin Sunday at 3 PM with Pastor Ron Merritt officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Sandra's family would like to request everyone to dress in Ohio State or Casual attire. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Wood County Humane Society, with a special interest in cat food in Sandra's memory.
