Sandra Miranda

July 7, 1954 – December 12, 2025

Sandra Miranda, 71, of Galveston, Texas, passed away peacefully at home on December 12, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She leaves behind her devoted husband of 51 years, Robert Alan Miranda Sr., who takes comfort knowing that she is no longer suffering, embraced by our Lord and finally at peace.

Sandra was born on July 7, 1954, in Galveston, Texas, to Pete and Aurora Botello. She attended school within GISD and went on to build a long, dedicated career at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, retiring after 36 years of service as a customer service representative in the billing department.

Family was the heart of Sandra's world. She cherished every moment spent with her loved ones. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, walking the beach, and spending time with her beloved dog, Chico. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren with all her heart. A woman of deep faith, Sandra was a devoted parishioner of St. Patrick Church and prayed the rosary faithfully.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Pete and Aurora Botello; her brother, Johnny Botello; and her granddaughter; Graciella Miranda. Sandra is survived by her children, David Miranda (wife Celina), Jessica Garcia, Robert A. Miranda Jr. (wife Diana). She is also survived by her siblings, Dora Cisneros and Jesus Lopez.

Sandra will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren: Bianca Lara, Briana Lara, Graciela Miranda, Hailee Miranda, David Miranda Jr., Xavier Koehler, Jeffrey Koehler Jr., Matthew Miranda, Sean Rumgay (wife Blanca), Liam Rumgay, and Victoria Miranda; and by her great-grandchildren, Joseph Rumgay, Gabriela Rumgay, and Kai Taylor. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished by numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

Pallbearers will be: David Miranda Jr., Xavier Koehler, Jeffrey Koehler Jr., Matthew Miranda, Sean Rumgay, and Liam Rumgay. Honorary Pallbearers include: Bianca Lara, Jesus "Pops" Lujan, and Oscar Lujan.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude for the love, support, and prayers received during this time. Special thanks are offered to the exceptional staff at the UTMB ICU department and the HCT Hospice Care Team for the compassionate care they provided.
