Sandra Kay Miskimen, age 78, of New Philadelphia, died peacefully, following a lengthy battle with Multiple Myeloma, on Wednesday, October 26, 2022, in New Dawn Health Care Center at Dover while under the compassionate care of Community Hospice.
Born on October 27, 1943, in Union Hospital at Dover, Sandy, was a daughter of the late Elson Robb, Sr. and E. Lucille Arter Grove.
She attended Dover High School and on August 21, 1967, wed Hugh Miskimen. As a couple, they created a blended family and marriage that has spanned the past 55 years. Sandy worked for many years as the Deli Manager for M&M Market at Dover and later was employed by JoAnn Fabrics. She also enjoyed operating her own sewing and embroidery business.
Sandy had a great love for animals and was involved with the Tuscarawas County Kennel Club and the Tuscarawas County Humane Society. She enjoyed traveling abroad, being with her family, and never turned down a good game of dominoes.
In addition to her husband, Sandy is survived by her children, Gary (Linda) Miskimen, Janice Miskimen, Timothy (Flora) Zurcher, Scott (Jenny) Miskimen, Mark (Marla) Miskimen, and Lisa (Terry) Schott; a son-in-law, Michael McLaughlin, as well as numerous beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Completing the family are a brother, Elson "Snook" (Barbara) Robb, Jr., a sister-in-law, Norma Arter, and numerous nieces and nephews and countless friends, whom she considered family.
In addition to her father and mother, Sandy was preceded in death by a daughter, Teresa McLaughlin, and a brother, James Arter.
The family will greet guests on Saturday, October 29, 2022, from 3:00 – 5:00 PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia where Pastor Byron Stewart will lead a service celebrating Sandy's life at 5:00 PM.
