Sandra (Sandy) Kay Buskirk-Parsons, 83, of Triadelphia, WV passed from this life to join the Lord on Saturday, June 14th, 2025.
She was born in Columbus, Ohio to the late Fred Buskirk, Sr. and Evelyn Buskirk-McClelland. In addition to her parents, Sandra was preceded in death by her husband and best friend, Lewis Parsons, Sr.; brother, Terry Buskirk; and sister-in-law, Marie Buskirk.
Sandra was retired from Ohio County Schools where she drove school bus for over 25 years, forming lifelong friendships. She was an active member of the Ash Avenue Church of God in Moundsville, WV. Sandra's love for her children, grandchildren, family and friends was unwavering. She was known and loved by so many and never knew a stranger. She was beyond proud of her children and grandchildren and loved to share their accomplishments and pictures any time she could. She loved spending time with "the girls" from their breakfast and lunch dates to day trips to shopping, her friendships were a strong presence in her life.
Sandra is survived by her children – sons, Lewis, Jr. (Alice) and Kirk Parsons, both of Elm Grove, WV and daughter, Stacey Watkins (Kevin) of Vienna, WV; grandsons, Lewie III (Amber) of Elm Grove, WV and Zachary Parsons (Tyler) of Columbus, OH; granddaughters, Allison Colón (Josh) of Fayetteville, NC and Addison Watkins (Robbie) of Fairmont, WV; great-grandchildren, Evelyn and Hayden Parsons of Elm Grove, WV and Charlotte Colón of Fayetteville, NC; a brother, Fred Buskirk (Eunice); brother/sister-in-laws Earl, Paul (Helen), Jay (Kathy) and Donna Parsons; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her "girls" – Sue, Mary Lou, Arlene and Kathy.
Per Sandra's request, there will be no funeral service. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be planned at the convenience of the family. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery in
Wheeling, WV where she will be laid to rest beside her husband and mother.
The family would like to thank Ohio County Sheriff, Nelson Croft, for his compassion and friendship as he led the 10-day search for our mother following the tragic flooding in Triadelphia, WV. His commitment to her Search and Recovery has brought great solace to the family as they navigate their tremendous loss. The family would also like to thank Ohio County Sheriff's Office, Wheeling Police Department, Wheeling Fire Department, Wheeling-Ohio County Emergency Management Agency, Ohio County 911 Center, WV DCR Drone Teams, WV Division of Corrections CERT Team, WV National Guard, Law Enforcement and Search and Rescue Teams from throughout WV and the endless amount of community volunteers. The family would also like to express their sincerest gratitude for the love and compassion that has been shown to them by family, friends, and communities throughout WV.
