Sandra Kay Prior

On August 11, 2025 after a short illness where she was cared for by her daughters Teresa, Andrea, and son in law Brian, and just 4 short months after losing the Love of Her Life, Sandy has gone with him to the Lord. Sandy has two daughters Teresa Kingery and Andrea Emmons. Sandy and Jerry were married in 1983 whereby she gained 4 step children, Debra (Joe) Yock, Roger (Donna) Prior, Ben Prior and Todd Prior. Sandy had special relationships with Debra and Joe Yock and Joe and Kelly Yock. Sandy was a legal secretary for a local law firm in Grand Ledge MI and then moved to the Assistant Attorney General for the Department of Transportation as a legal assistant. She was able to retire at 49 and enjoyed traveling with Jerry in the U.S. and abroad, making friends along the way. Sandy had so many friends including old classmates and people of Mackinaw City where Sandy and Jerry lived for 40 years. They were very close with Pastor Dave Wallis in Mackinaw. When they moved to Delta Township they attended Community Baptist Church and not surprisingly, made many friends especially Judy Bolhuis and was close to Pastor Timothy Jackson, Pastor Joe and Kyla Jackson and their children Steven, Elijah and Glory Anne. Sandy had a special longtime friend, Denise Dawdy, for many decades. She will be greatly missed and survived by daughters Teresa (Vic) Kingery, Andrea (Brian) Emmons. Her grandchildren Victor (Anne) Kingery, Stephen (Danielle) Kingery, Olivia Kingery, Courtney (Pat) Sollner, Paige (Kyle) Knapp and David (Marissa) Brooks. Along with her step children Debra (Joe) Yock, Roger (Donna) Prior, Ben Prior and Todd Prior, 13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild, nieces, nephews and cousins. Sandy will be cremated with a service to be arranged at a later date.
