Sandra Louise Ragsdale Atcheson Aden, a woman of deep faith, boundless love, and remarkable strength, passed away peacefully at her home in California on July 15, 2025, at the age of 85.
Born on September 7, 1939, to Walton and Lois Ragsdale, Sandra was raised on a cattle farm in Dallas, Georgia, where she learned the values of hard work, family, and a deep appreciation for the natural world. A graduate of Hiram High School, she went on to attend Young Harris College before beginning her career at C&S Bank in downtown Atlanta.
Sandra embraced life with courage, joy, and an open heart. She loved to dance, adored Elvis Presley, and cherished weekend car shows with her beloved husband. In the 1960s, she settled in Roswell, Georgia, where she raised her two daughters. In 1975, with steadfast determination and faith, she moved to Atlanta to begin a new chapter.
While working as a branch manager at C&S Bank, she met the love of her life, Greg Aden. The two were married in 1984 and later moved to California, where they built a life filled with love, laughter, and adventure.
Though she lived far from her Georgia roots, Sandra remained deeply connected to her family. She made frequent visits back home, where she delighted in spending time with her grandchildren and sharing stories, laughter, and her unmistakable warmth. She had a green thumb-an art passed down from her mother-Sandra also found joy in travel, exploring France, Italy, and countless parts of the U.S., always seeking beauty and spreading it wherever she went.
Her Christian faith was the foundation of her life. Sandra's strength, joy, and unwavering trust in God left a powerful mark on all who knew her. In her own words: "I am a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, cousin, and a follower of Jesus; formerly a Ragsdale."
Sandra is survived by her devoted husband of 41 years, Gregory Aden; her daughters, Janet Cartland and Bonnie Atcheson; and her grandchildren, Tara Parker, Abby Yanez, and Jordan Yanez. She was preceded in death by her cherished grandson, Ryan Maddox Parker; her parents, Walton and Lois Ragsdale; and her brother, Richard "Dickey" Ragsdale. She is also survived by her brother, Jerry Ragsdale; sister, Carole Lindsey; several loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of dear friends.
Her life was a blessing, her memory a treasure. Her legacy is love.
