Reba Brown

Mrs. Mary Reba Brown, age 87, of Hiram, GA, passed away August 27, 2025. She was born June 12, 1938 in Hiram to the late William Johnson and Opal Harris Johnson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Dewayne Brown and brother, Dennis Johnson.

Reba was always proud of her accomplishment of being the Valedictorian of Hiram High School in 1956. She loved to read and especially enjoyed reading and journaling in her Bible. Never one to stay at home, Reba was always on the go, dressed to impress, and fashion forward. She led a very busy life of caring for her flowers, watching and feeding her hummingbirds, and going out for breakfast with her friends, cousins, and church family. Reba loved playing the piano for her church; she played piano for Harmony Grove Baptist Church for 17 years. She was a founding and current member of Cochran Ridge Baptist Church. Reba was called "Memaw" by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved her family and the Lord. Among her many notes in her Bible was the phrase: "Nothing + God = Everything."

Reba is survived by her children and their spouses, Shayne and Kim Murdock, of Buchanan, GA, Candy and Billy Holland, of Roanoke, AL, Courtney and Matt Kunkel, of Powder Springs, GA, and Chandel and Jason Lanier, of Tallapoosa, GA; grandchildren, Autumn, Kristin, Will, Jordan, Erin, Kamryn, Kayla, Jaxson, Darby, Stevie, Hayden, Keaton, Kenley, Payton, Tucker, and Kessler; and twenty-three great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, August 31, 2025 at 4:00PM at Cochran Ridge Baptist Church in Hiram, GA with Rev. Jeff Childers officiating. A eulogy will be given by Hayden Lanier. Music will be provided by Hayden, Kenley, and Keaton Lanier. Gentlemen serving as pallbearers will be Tyler Davis, Jaxson Murdock, Will Holland, Jackson Pizzolato, Jake Kierbow, Tucker Kunkel, Hayden Lanier, and Keaton Lanier. Interment will follow in Paulding Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the church on Sunday from 2:00PM until the funeral hour.
