Sandra (Swaine) Riddle, 77, of Austinville, PA, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Tuesday evening July 8, 2025. Sandra was born on March 9, 1948, in Queens New York, a daughter of the late John and Dorothy (Taubman) Swaine. On October 28, 1969, Sandra married her soulmate, Roger Riddle, in Farmingdale, NY. Together they shared 44 years of loving marriage before Roger's passing in 2013.
In her early years, Sandra expressed her creativity as a home decorator and painter and worked at the local bingo hall. Known fondly as Sandy by many, she also spent time as a waitress and cook in Long Island, New York. After relocating to Austinville, Pennsylvania, Sandy embraced her most cherished role, being a stay-at-home mom, a calling she considered her greatest joy.
Passionate and kind-hearted, Sandy had a generous spirit and an unwavering devotion to her family. Though her given name was Sandra, she was affectionately known by a variety of names, including Sandy, Sandra D, Momma Riddle, and simply Mom, a testament to the deep love and respect she inspired in those around her.
She was the kind of person who would lend a hand to anyone in need, often welcoming others into her home and caring for them as if they were her own. Her compassion knew no bounds. Guided by her Catholic faith and the importance of family, Sandy created a life rooted in love and service.
She found joy in the great outdoors, especially camping, and was a devoted fan of NASCAR, horse racing, and football. Sandy's legacy is one of generosity, strength, and boundless love. She will be remembered always as a nurturing soul who opened her heart and home to all.
Sandy is lovingly remembered by her seven children: Jimmy (Mary) Riddle of Watkins Glen, Denise Riddle of Austinville, Roger (Becky) Riddle of Troy, Michael Riddle, Diana Riddle and her fiancé Hal Eighmey all of Austinville, Tabatha (Keith) Vargson of Troy, and Rosemarie (Bill) DeJong of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
She is also survived by her sister, Jeanie, and her brother, Johnny Swaine, both of Long Island, New York.
Sandy's legacy continues through her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as a wide circle of nieces, nephews, cousins, and cherished friends who will miss her deeply.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband Roger Riddle, who she is now reunited with, Edna Swaine and her sister Jackie Guagliano.
Services to honor Sandy's life will be announced. Pepper Funeral Home and Cremation Facility, 578 Springbrook Drive in Canton is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Sandra's name may be directed to the Guthrie Hospital 421 Tomahawk Rd., Tawanda PA 18848 or to the Guthrie Clinic Cancer Ward, 1 Guthrie Square, Sayre, PA 18840.
