Sandra Jean Smith, 86, of Jackson, passed away Monday November 10, 2025, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau. She was born June 20, 1939, in Oak Ridge, to Gilbert L. and Olga V. Loos Mungle. She and Jimmie D. Smith were married November 27, 1982, in Jackson.
Sandra was a 1957 Jackson High School graduate. After high school she was an accountant for over 20 years at Superior Electric and later retired from Blair Industries.
She was an avid bowler, enjoyed sewing, cross stitching, reading books, and puzzles. You could also find Sandra at the track watching sprint car races.
Loving survivors include a son, Kyle (Linda) Brotherton of Jackson; two grandchildren, Jason (Holly) Floyd and Jena (Jacob) Scholl; five great grandchildren, Sydnie and Colt Floyd, and Ellie, Henry, Benson Scholl; and niece Crystal (late Tim) Kinder.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jimmie, parents; and brother, Edward L. Mungle.
Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m., Thursday, November 13, 2025, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
Rev. Sam Roethemeyer will conduct the funeral service at 11a.m., Friday, November 14, 2025, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
If considering a memorial contribution, the family suggest Humane Society of Southeast Missouri, St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, or Shriner Children Hospital.
