Sandra Leah (Montaven) Strahle of Holt Michigan went to be with her lord and savior peacefully on January 22, 2025, at the age of 86.
Sandra was born on March 23, 1938 in Lansing MI, the daughter of Otis and Ethel Montaven. She was the oldest of 23 grandchildren and spent many happy occasions with aunts, uncles and cousins at big family gatherings growing up in Alaiedon Township. Sandra graduated from Mason High School in 1956.
After 30 years of employment at Michigan State University, Sandra retired in 1996 to enjoy time with her family. Sandra enjoyed traveling throughout the years with her beloved husband Carl of 45 years and their fur baby Madison in their fifth wheel. They enjoyed many tropical cruises and escaping the Michigan winters in Florida, Arizona and Georgia.
Sandra is greatly missed and will always be remembered by her kindness, grace, and compassionate, selfless, loving nature. She was a great listener and her happiest times were being with her children and family.
A special thank you to New Haven Foster Care Staff and Colleen, her hospice nurse, for taking such good care of Sandra in her journey to the lord.
Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, brother Victor Montaven, brother in law Warren Ransburg, Son Drew Rogers, and husband Carl Strahle. Survived by sister Tresa (Roger Swartz) Ransburg, daughter Dawn (Greg) Stanley, son Darin (Dena) Rogers, step daughter Kathy (Patricia) Strahle, grandchildren Jennifer Reynolds, Michelle Rogers, Jamie (Justin) Hofbauer, Christina (Jacob) Hudgins, Nicole (Emilio) Mireles, Tyler Rogers, great grandchildren Zoey, Breaunna, Alex, Justin (JJ), Jameson, Catelynn, Eliana, great great granddaughter Ezra and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Care Team Home Health and Hospice, 5401 Gateway Center Suite D, Flint, MI 48507 or the Holt United Methodist Church, 2321 N. Aurelius Rd., Holt, MI 48842 or CAHS Shelter 7095 West Grand River Avenue Lansing, MI 48906.
