Sandra Gaylene (Prater) Stryker passed from this life on March 15, 2023 at the age of 58.
Gaylene was born to Wayne and Sue Prater on April 16, 1964. She was the last of five children, and lived with her family in many locations throughout the United States. Her father was in the Air Force, and worked in agriculture and construction which led to the family moving frequently. Gaylene learned from her father the value of working hard, being successful, and independent.
The family finally settled in Canadian where Gaylene enjoyed playing basketball for the Canadian Lady Cougars. She graduated from Canadian High School in 1982. After graduation, Gaylene worked in construction and the pipeline industry.
She married Rod Stryker on September 23, 1994.
Gaylene and Rod worked together for many years living wherever the job demanded. They retired from pipelining in 2020 and moved to Childress, Texas.
The joy of Gaylene's life was her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with her family and vacationing with them as often as possible. Gaylene was known for her big heart, generosity, and charity to all. She loved helping people!
She is survived by her husband: Rod Stryker of Childress, Texas; her mother: Sue Prater of Canadian; brothers: Craig Prater and wife, Jeanie of Crowder, Kelly Prater and wife, Angie of Childress; sister: Darlene Oxford and husband, Danny of Eufaula; daughters: Kelly Rhyne and husband, Sam of Wardville, Kylee Hopkins and husband, Hays of Edmond, Kelsy Engleman of Edmond, Angela Tull and husband, Josh of McAlester; son: TJ Stryker of Muskogee; her grandchildren: Kyler, Sadie, and Wyatt Rhyne, Jackson French, Violet and Vera Hopkins, Daniel and Jeremiah Tull; sister-in-law: Deb Stryker-Tittel and husband, Gary of Riley, Kansas; her mother-in-law: Teresa Stryker of Randolph, Kansas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
