Sandra Lee Tharp

Sandra "Sandi" Lee (Weaver) Tharp, 79, entered into this world on February 4,1945 and left this world on October 14,2024. A devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Sandi was a bright light in the lives of all who knew her.
Sandi married the love of her life, Roger Tharp, on April 30, 1966, in Niles, Michigan. Together, they shared a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Sandi was a passionate supporter of Notre Dame football, and her spirited enthusiasm was a source of joy for her family and friends, especially on game days.
After a fulfilling career at the University of Notre Dame in the admissions office, Sandi retired but remained a lifelong advocate for education and community. When she wasn't surrounded by her beloved family, Sandi loved feeding the birds in her backyard, finding tranquility and happiness in their presence. Sandi lived for her son, grandsons, and great grandsons. Sandi enjoyed playing her POGO games, which brought her hours of entertainment during the winter months.
In the summer you would find Sandi outside in her garden. She spent hours working on her plants and being able to cook for her family. Fried green tomatoes or zucchini bread, you always knew it was something fresh from the garden. She also spent time on her roses and making sure her trellis was covered with beautiful flowers.
Sandi is proceeded in death by her parents Robert G. Weaver and Norma (Nichols) Weaver; brother, Robert G Weaver Jr. and her husband Roger Tharp.
Sandi is survived by her son Roger (Jessica) Tharp II; grandsons, Michael (Emily) Tharp and Travis Tharp; great-grandsons, Ryan Murphy, Logan Tharp, Tyson Hatchew, and Jaxon Tharp and cousin, Denny (Pat) Nichols. She had multiple extended family including Lois Sherman, who deeply cared for Sandi. We will forever cherish Sandi's memory and the lessons of love and kindness.
Visitation for Sandi will be on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Brown Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, October 17, 2024 at 11:00am with visitation an hour prior at Brown Funeral Home. Burial will immediately follow at Dailey Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family has asked for donations to be made in Sandi's honor to American Diabetes Association, American Heart Association, or The Berrien County Youth Fair.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Brown Funeral Home.
