Sanford H. McCurry, 76, husband of Francis H Kelley, of Salem, passed away on October 15, 2025, peacefully at his home.
Born and raised in Oconee County, Mr. McCurry was the son of the late Annie Mae Jones Wilkerson. He was a highly skilled master brick mason and a dedicated member of his local community. Mr. McCurry was an avid fisherman. He found peace and joy out on the water. Mr. McCurry was a Master Mason at Six Mile Masonic Lodge #339 and also held membership with Blue Ridge Masonic Lodge #92. He was active in the Order of the Eastern Star and the Order of the Amaranth, reflecting his commitment to service and fellowship.
In addition to his wife, Mr. McCurry is survived by his daughters: Beth McCurry (Jeffery), and Sandie Evatt (Rex); stepchildren: Mike Kelley (Allison), Stan Kelley (Donna), Bart Kelley (Tonya), and Brad Kelley (Toni); sisters: Lori Chappelear (Dan), and Cathy Addis (Ronnie); brothers: Mike McCurry (Phyllis), and Cecil McCurry (Ann); grandchildren: Nichole Porter (Zach), Corey Porter (Allie), Ashley McCall (Jay), Bailey Evatt, and Ethan Evatt; 8 great-grandchildren; 7 step grandchildren; 3 step great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved.
In addition to his mother, Mr. McCurry was preceded in death by his first wife: Brenda Burrell McCurry.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 18, 2025, prior to the service, at Davenport Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at the Davenport Funeral Home Chapel.
Flowers are accepted, or memorials may be made to the Shriners Children's Hospital, 950 W Faris Rd, Greenville, SC 29605, donate.shrinerschildrens.org.
The family is at their respective homes.
