Mrs. Sara Bonser

Mrs. Sara Bonser, 86, of Nazareth, formerly of Saylorsburg, passed away on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, in the Alexandria Manor, Nazareth. She was the loving wife of the late Robert R. Bonser, who passed away in 2007.

She worked for the U.S. Postal Service as a rural letter carrier for 30 years before retiring. Prior to that, she had worked at Valerie Fashions, Wind Gap.

Born in Stroudsburg, she was a daughter of the late Ralph and Mary (Buskirk) Koehler.

She served as a West End Fair director for many years, and also served on the Saylorsburg Playground Association.

Most of all, Sara was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend who will be missed by all who knew her.

Surviving are a son, Robert R. Bonser Jr., and his wife, Lori, and a daughter Donna, wife of David Detweiler, both of Saylorsburg; two brothers, Ralph Koehler Jr., and his wife, Carol, of Whitehall, and Harry Koehler, and his wife, Linda, of Gilbert; a sister, Delores Jacob of Tacoma, WA; four grandchildren, Amber Santos, Jaclyn Price, Elizabeth Partington and Ryan Bonser; and six great-grandchildren, Christyan, Lucas, Mikalyn, Liam, Hunter and Jameson.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Eleanore Fuls.

Service: Funeral service 11 a.m. Saturday, March 22, Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Rt. 209, Brodheadsville, with the Rev. David Felker officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Saylorsburg.
