Pulsifer, Sara Kinard Sara Kinard Pulsifer, 96, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday November 12, 2025, in Orlando, Florida. Born December 8, 1928, in Anthony Florida, Sara lived there until graduating from Anthony High School in 1946. Sara began college at the Florida State College for Women in 1946. The following year it was renamed Florida State University after becoming co-ed. Sara always referred to herself as “an Original Seminole” having attended the very first FSU football game. A lifelong fan, she attended many games both home & away including every FSU national championship ever played

After graduating with a degree in Accounting, Sara moved to Orlando in 1950. There she was employed as an Accountant by Holloway Concrete Products for 3 years. Once in Orlando, Sara joined the First United Methodist Church of Orlando where she met John M Pulsifer III in the “older youth class”. They were married on September 5, 1954, and spent their first three wedding anniversaries living near London England where John was stationed in the Air Force. The couple returned to Orlando in 1957 where they raised their family and remained for the rest of their lives.

Sara was very active at First United Methodist Church of Orlando and in the Community. In the United Methodist Women, she volunteered locally and

at the District Level as Treasurer & Membership Chairman. Sara was Chairman of the Financial Campaign which paid off the Sanctuary Debt at First United Methodist Church of Orlando. Sara also served as a Pink Lady Volunteer at Orlando Health in the Critical Care Unit donating more than 5,000 hours. Working through the leadership chairs, she culminated her service as President of the Pink Lady Auxiliary. Sara was then elected to the Board of Directors for Orlando Health where she enjoyed serving for 9 years.

Sara & John were married more than 50 years splitting their time between Orlando & their beloved mountains in Maggie Valley, NC. After buying their first cabin in 1965, Sara spent 50 summers in Maggie Valley where she loved the mountain air and gardening. She also played an active role in the Peachtree Community Church which reminded her of the small church of her childhood.

Sara is survived by Son John M Pulsifer IV (Meg) of Orlando; Daughter Joanne S Recek (Dale) of Orlando; Grandchildren Rebecca S Pulsifer of Asheville and Orlando; Jason D Recek (Erika) of Oakland; Great Grandchildren Adam R Recek and Melanie S Recek both of Oakland. Sara was preceded in death by her husband John in 2004.
