Joseph W. Pulsifer, 75, of Paxton, passed away on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at UMass Memorial Medical Center after a short illness. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Joe leaves behind a legacy of love, music, and cherished memories.
He leaves his wife of 47 years, Mary Beth (Fanning) Pulsifer; two children, Benjamin J. Pulsifer and his children Tristan, Kierra and Aaren of Oahu, Hawaii, and Sarah J. Hill and her children Jackson, Emma and Ava of Rutland; three brothers, Robert Pulsifer and his wife Judi of Wareham, Kevin Pulsifer and his wife Jean of Rochester, and Mark Pulsifer and his wife Amanda of Hanover; and many nieces and nephews.
Joseph was born in Brighton, son of Joseph and Lorraine (Meegan) Pulsifer and attended the former Our Lady Help of Christians High School in Newton and Berklee College of Music.
Joe was a talented lead guitarist who played with numerous bands in nightclubs throughout Boston and New England. His music career took him to venues across the eastern U.S., and for many years, he performed in popular show bands in Florida, bringing the hits of his era to life.
After many years of music life on the road, he shifted to a new career as a sales representative for the Massachusetts State Lottery. He retired in 2020.
Joe's one-of-a-kind personality touched the lives of all who knew him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, and he will be deeply missed by so many, especially by his six grandchildren.
Calling hours are Thursday, June 5, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., Worcester. The funeral Mass will be Friday, June 6, at 10 a.m. at St. John's Church, 40 Temple St., Worcester. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Worcester.
