Sara "Chay" Rosado, age 78, of Chicago, passed away on April 1, 2024. Beloved wife of William Rosado for a wonderful 53 years. Loving mother of Mayda (Roy) Corral and Diana Rosado. Cherished stepmother of the late Donald Rosado and Dolly (Fred) Pino. Devoted grandmother of Kylie and Andrew Corral. Fond step-grandmother. Dear sister of Jose Antonio, Sonia Baez, Carmen Vallejo, Iris Chacon, Teresa Vallejo Colon, Gladys Irizarry, Edith Vallejo, Margarita Vallejo, Evelyn Martinez, Anselmo Vallejo Jr., Sandra Vallejo-Rivera, Bethsaida Gomez, Maritza McMillan, Adair Armband, and Albert Vallejo. Fond aunt and friend of many. Preceded in death by her parents, Anselmo and Esmeralda Vallejo.
Sara will be remembered for loving her family, her wonderful backyard garden, amazing cooking, and her sense of humor. Sara deeply influenced many with the best stories of wisdom that she shared with her loved ones.
Sara proudly served the Chicago Police Department as a civilian clerk for 20+ years.
Above all, Sara will be remembered for her love of faith. She was a longtime member at Ashburn Baptist Church, Standing Stones Church, and the Garfield Ridge Baptist Church.
Visitation 3 to 8pm Sunday, April 7th at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55th St., Countryside, where a Funeral Service will be held at 11am on Monday, April 8th. Interment to follow at Bethania Cemetery, Justice.
