Sara Elizabeth Tourte

Sara Tourte passed away unexpectedly on September 22, 2024, due to injuries sustained in a car accident. She was born in Des Moines, IA on March 24, 1990, to Ronald and Libby (Blachford) Tourte.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 27, 2024, at Ankeny First United Methodist Church Christian Life Center, CLC (710 NE 36th Street, Ankeny, IA 50021) from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. The funeral service will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 28, 2024, also at the CLC, with burial to follow at Ankeny Memorial Gardens.
Sara grew up in Ankeny, IA where she graduated from Ankeny High School in 2008. At just 19 years old, Sara began her career at DLL Finance (formerly Agricredit), where her hard work and dedication earned her a management position by her early 30s.
Sara was an active member of her church community, always eager to participate in church activities. She found joy in bowling, playing piano, singing karaoke, and watching goofy movies with her dad and brother.
Sara loved to surround herself with friends, often hosting lively game nights and costume parties. Her zest for life extended to her passion for teaching Zumba, a love she shared with her mom. She was lovingly referred to as her mom's Zumboss by many.
Sara held a special place in her heart for her family. The family trips to Michigan and visits to the farm where her grandparents lived were treasured memories that she often spoke of with love.
One of the most cherished parts of Sara's life was her relationship with Kolby Drees. Introducing him to her family was a milestone that brought her great joy. Sara also took pride in her role as a 'dog mom' to her beloved dog, Benji, who was her constant companion and brought her endless happiness.
Sara is survived by her mother, Libby Tourte; Grandparents: Jerry & Loretta Tourte and Rich & Kathleen Blachford; many cousins, aunts and uncles. She was preceded in death by her father, Ronald Tourte; brother, Joseph Richard Tourte; cousin, Ashley Lebeck; as well as other loving family members.
Sara's legacy is one of love, dedication, and joy. Her family, friends, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing her will remember her as a beautiful soul. Her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were touched by her presence.
