Sarah P. Young Fisher, 72 of Lancaster, PA, passed away on October 27th at Hospice and Community Care, Mt Joy, after a courageous year-long battle against liver disease. Born in York, PA, she is the daughter of the late John and Lois Young. She was the loving wife of the late Dallas Fisher, Jr, to whom she was married for 39 years.

Sarah was a lifelong learner. She graduated from Juniata, cum laude, with a dual bachelor’s degree in Math and Biology. She was also a graduate of the Pennsylvania Bankers Trust School and the ABA National Graduate Trust School. She was a Certified Financial Planner (CFP), a Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) with the American College, Bryn Mawr, Pa, and a Certified Financial Services Counselor (CFSC), all national designations in the field of estate planning. She was also an enrolled agent with the Internal Revenue Service and an arbitrator for the NASD.

Sarah had an accomplished career as a Financial Advisor. For 13 years, she was vice president and senior trust officer at Fulton Bank in Lancaster, Pa. She left to become a trust officer at Hershey Trust Company for the next three years.

She left a promising career at Hershey Trust to start her own business, Fisher Advisors. She merged this thriving business with RKL Wealth Management, where she was instrumental in growing their assets under management to over $1 billion. In 2024, she retired as President Emeritus to spend more time with her children and grandson.

Sarah shared her financial expertise with the public by authoring seven books, including Money for Millennials, the Complete Idiot's Guide to Personal Finance in Your 20s and 30s, the Lazy Way to Handle Your Finances, and Everything You Need to Know About Money and Investing: A Financial Expert Answers the 1,001 Most Frequently Asked Questions.

Sarah lent her expertise to many boards and organizations, while also focusing on philanthropy. She was a past member of the Lancaster County Estate Planning Council. She was a past member of the Finance Committee of the Lancaster YWCA, Treasurer for the Lancaster Day Care Center Board, President of the Lancaster Chapter of the American Society of CLU & ChFC, member of the Easter Conference Board of Pensions for the United Methodist Church, and member of the Endowment Committee of the Lancaster-Lebanon Council of the Boy Scouts of America. She was a member of the Women's Giving Circle of Hospice and Community Care in Mt. Joy.

She was also an expansive philanthropist, giving to the Lancaster County Convention, the Lancaster Science Factory, First United Methodist Church, and Juniata College, among others.

Sarah is survived by her mother Lois Young of Lancaster, PA, her son, Robert John Fisher of Lancaster, PA; her daughter, Mary Catherine (Catie) Fisher of Copley, OH; her two brothers, Michael Young of Lancaster, PA, and Walter Young of Bartlesville, OK, her sister, Mary McDermott of Longs, SC; and a new grandson, Benny Fisher of Lancaster, PA.
