Sarah Marie Hann, 74, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on January 18, 2024. She was born on May 12, 1949, in Muncie, Indiana, to parents, Cecil Alvin Tinkle and Carol Elizabeth (Mitchell) Tinkle.
On March 8, 1975, in Indianapolis, Indiana, Sarah married the love of her life, Jeff Hann, spending a loving and cherished 48 years together.
Sarah possessed a quirky sense of humor that she shared with her children and grandchildren. She had an extraordinary ability to bring joy and laughter to any situation. Her humor was a gift that she graciously bestowed upon her family, brightening their lives with every witty remark, slight of sarcasm or playful joke.
Her role as a wife, mother and grandmother was one that she cherished above all else. Sarah's dedication to her family knew no bounds. No matter the circumstance or challenge that life presented, she consistently exhibited kindness, patience, and generosity towards everyone around her. Her unwavering love for her family was evident in every daily interaction and milestone celebrated together.
Once a year, Sarah and her husband Jeff looked forward to their yearly trips to different areas in Tennessee. It was during these trips that they would immerse themselves in the vibrant sounds of country, western, and gospel shows.
Apart from music travels, Sarah also found solace in the pages of books. Reading was more than just a hobby for her; it was a passion that fueled her imagination and enriched her understanding of the world.
Sarah's passing leaves an indescribable void in the lives of those closest to her. Yet amidst the sorrow lies gratitude for having shared precious moments with such an extraordinary woman. The memory of Sarah will forever be engraved in their hearts.
Sarah is survived by her loving husband, Jeffrey Carl Hann; children, Rachel L. Hann, William L.C. “Andy” Smith, and Kathryn “Katie” E. Hann; sister, Betty Ann Donnelly; and 5 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Carol Tinkle.
A Memorial Gathering for Sarah will be from 1-3pm on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at Flanner Buchanan – Oaklawn Memorial Gardens (Conner Suite) – 9700 Allisonville Rd., Indianapolis, IN 46250, with a memorial service immediately following at 3pm.
Memorial contributions in her name may be made to assist with the funeral expenses or to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
