Ms. Sarah Jean "Jeanie" Dalton, 72, passed away Tuesday, July 1, 2025. Jeannie was born December 20, 1952, in Macon, County in the Watauga community to the late Lawrence Grady Dalton and Edna Raby Dalton.
Jeannie was employed for many years at the Country Inn Motel until the change of ownership and then she babysat and worked at after school programs. She never drove a vehicle yet always worked to provide for her family.
She was of the Baptist faith and attended Watauga Baptist Church for many years.
Jeannie was a loving mother and grandmother. She loved the Lord with all her heart.
In addition to her parents Jeannie was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert "Bobby" Dalton, Arthur Dalton, and Lewis Dalton; and two sisters, Dora Vinson and Mary Catherine Cook.
Survivors include a daughter, Christy Potts (Rick); a son, Robbie Ray; two grandchildren, Faith and Tucker; a brother, Joseph Lane Dalton (Mary Jo); and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held Sunday, July 6, 2025, at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Bryant-Grant Funeral Home with the Rev. Rick Potts officiating. Burial will follow at Watauga Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Marcus Dalton, Stacy Vinson, Tucker Potts, John Ray, Jason Ray, and Tyler Vinson.
The family would like to say a special thanks to the Angel Medical ICU nurses, respiratory therapists, cafeteria staff and Dr. Franks for the compassionate and wonderful care they gave Ms. Dalton.
