Sarah Maxine Beard Nicks

Sarah Maxine Beard Nicks, age 95 of Dickson, TN, passed away Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at Shannondale Healthcare Center, Maryville, TN, where she had lived the last 3 years. Maxine was born in Hohenwald, TN on March 5, 1917 and was a lifelong member of Walnut Street Church of Christ in Dickson, TN. Preceded in death by: Husband, James H. Nicks; Parents, Earlie Mae Harlan and William Britton Beard; Brothers, Will Harlan and Robin Leo Beard; Sister, Margaret Sinks; Granddaughter, Laura Norton Lane. Survivors include: Daughters, Abigail (Rick) Byrn of Huntsville, AL and Nancy (David) Norton of Maryville, TN; Grandchildren, Judy (Nelson) Mills, Janice (Craig) Martin, Andrew (Annie) Byrn, Roger (Kristie) Norton, Alice (Jay) Richter; 12 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson. The family would like to thank the staffs at Olive Branch Assisted Living and Shannondale of Maryville for their love, care and support. Family will receive friends from 4:00 until 7:00 PM, Saturday, September 1, 2012 and from 1:00 until 2:00 PM on Sunday, September 2, 2012 at Taylor Funeral Home in Dickson, TN. A memorial service will be at 2:00 PM on Sunday. Interment will follow at Dickson Union Cemetery.
