Sarah Nell Pittman, 76, was born on February 9, 1948, in Calhoun City, Calhoun County, Mississippi, and passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 12, 2025, at Baptist Memorial Hospital North Mississippi in Oxford, Mississippi. She was a beloved member of her community, known for her warmth and kindness.
Throughout her life, Sarah touched the hearts of many. She was the proud mother of James Pittman and his wife Jackie, who survived her. The legacy of Sarah’s love will be deeply felt by her family and friends.
Sarah is preceded in death by her father, Samuel Atkinson, and her mother, Ruby Nell Armstrong. She also is preceded in death by her son, Patrick Pittman, and her two daughters, Cynthia Pittman and Debra Pittman. Sarah was the cherished sister of Sarah Ellen Moore and Dorothy Williams, who have also passed away.
The community is invited to honor her memory during the visitation at Belle Memorial Funeral Home in Bruce, Mississippi on January 25, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. A viewing will take place at Bridges Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Pittsboro, Mississippi on Sunday, January 26, 2025, from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM, followed by a Celebration of Life service beginning at 2:00 PM,
Sarah will be remembered for her loving spirit, her dedication to family, and her unwavering support for those she cherished. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know her.
