Sarah Wright (Scott) Quattlebaum Renfrow was born June 7, 1921 to George Moore Scott and Martha Elizabeth (Hood) Scott near Strong City,Oklahoma. Sarah was named after her paternal grandmother. Sarah lived in various towns and the countrysides of western Oklahoma, various suburbs of Los Angeles and the latter portion of her life in Lubbock, Texas. She attended various schools and finished the 11th grade at Seiling High School.
She was briefly married to Junia Fipps in her teenage years, but the marriage was annulled. She fell in love with and subsequently married Albert Archie Quattlebaum in Leedey, Oklahoma on October 21, 1939. They were happily married until Albert's death in 1974. Sarah and Albert had five children together; Joyce Elaine Sims of Lubbock, Texas, Jerry Dean Quattlebaum of Lubbock, Texas, Dennis Ray Quattlebaum of Lubbock, Texas, Karen Sue Quattlebaum (deceased) and Peggy Gayle Lopez (deceased).
She met Alvin Hopper Renfrow a few years later. Their relationship grew into a marriage in Glendale, California on September 3, 1978. They were companions until Alvin's death in 1980. They enjoyed traveling and each other's company.
Sarah worked as a waitress, homemaker, mother and at various factories. She loved traveling, square dancing, family time, word search puzzles and church activities. She would consistently be a member of the local church wherever she lived. Most recently, she was a member of Highland Baptist Church in Lubbock and was a member of Highland Baptist The R's. She was a bold professing Christian and witnessed to all her family and friends.
Sarah passed from the worldly life in the early morning hours of September 13, 2024. She was 103 years of age.
She was preceded in death by her siblings; Melvin Ross Scott, John Vernell Scott, Hular Scott Geyer, Lulamae Scott Baker, James Kelly Scott and Albertie Scott Rogers. She was also preceded in death by her stepdaughter Patricia Taylor, a grandson Kevin Lee Cogburn and a granddaughter Karen Sue Ellis.
She is survived by grandchildren; Kimberly Lynn Bates of Conroe, Texas, Korena Kaye Quattlebaum of Lubbock, Texas, Ruoal Alejandro Lopez of Sammamish, Washington, Marc Ray Quattlebaum of Lubbock, Texas and Ysidro Alberto Lopez of Taft, California. Other descendants are numerous great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and other extended family to numerous to count.
The family is spread across our country from coast to coast, as far north as Alaska and to the southern most states. A fundamental theme remains in the family of Sarah Wright Scott Quattlebaum Renfrow.faith in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

We knew Sarah at Highland Baptist and in 3Rs. She was such a sweet lady. We loved always visiting with her. She was such a special friend.
