Satch Green

Linverd "Satch" Green, 86, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2025. Satch was born on November 18, 1938, to the late Homer Green and Rildia French Green. Satch loved working with his hands and could fix just about anything. He took pride in his garden, enjoyed tinkering on projects, and was always ready to lend a helping hand. Known for his quick wit and infectious laugh, he brought joy to everyone around him. He had a special love for his animals, especially his cat, William "Willy." He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Betty Jo Green; daughter, Tonya Sue Hicks; son-in-law, Mack Hicks; brothers, Buck Green and James Green; and sister, Coraland Donner. Satch is survived by his daughter, Angelia Green-Woodall (Tony), and his son, Jeff Green (Penny); grandchildren MJ Hicks, Josh Galligan, Jennifer Jernigan, and Jordan Green; nephew Dooley Green (Betty); sister, Mildred Simmons; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family members, and dear friends who will cherish his memory. Visitation will be held at Manchester Funeral Home on Saturday, November 8, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, with the funeral service beginning at 4:00 PM with Brother Jimmy West officiating. In Lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Coffee County Humane Society.
