Sava Rasic Harris

Sava Rasic Harris, 84 years old, passed away peacefully on July 3rd in the presence of family. Born in 1937 in Bogota, Columbia, she was preceded in death by her parents Mikhal and Maria Rasic, and her dear sister Drina Rasic Stang. Sava is survived by her beloved sisters Lily Rasic Trout, St Charles, Il, and Zora Rasic Halvorson, Costa Mesa, CA. She deeply cared for her three children, Tanya Petty Edwards, Atlanta GA; Sonya Petty Gray, Osprey, FL; and Mark Harris, Fort Myers, FL, her three stepchildren Carl Harris (Tina), Los Angeles, CA; Brett Harris (Dawn), Shropshire, UK; and Della Harris, Dallas, TX; and her many beloved grandchildren.
Sava was a kind and loving person who lived a remarkably full life, from living in many countries in South America as a child, to high school in Italy and going to university in Miami, FL. She was a true citizen of the world. Wherever she went in the world, she made friends, she loved people and people loved her. Sava had elegance and beauty, an infectious laugh, and a beautiful smile. She loved her family and friends with her whole generous heart. She owned a clothing boutique on the famous Beauchamp Place in Knightsbridge, London, where she lived for twenty-five years. In 1996, Sava made her home in Osprey, Florida. She opened and operated the House of Lords consignment store in Osprey, with her husband until their divorce. She then took to traveling the high seas. On one trip, her ship was even chased by pirates! Sava adored her Florida home, where she enjoyed feeding the fish in her lake daily with her constant furry companion, Sugar, by her side. A member of The Oaks Club for over 20 years, she will be greatly missed by all who had the opportunity to get to know and love her.
A memorial will be held on Friday, July 8th at 2:30 pm at Toale Brothers, Gulf Gate Chapel, 6903 S. Tamiami Trail, Sarasota, FL 34231.
