Elizabeth June "Bette" Spreen

Elizabeth "Bette" Spreen passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, January 24, 2023.
Bette was born and raised in Bedford, Indiana, and lived the last 53 years in Sarasota, Florida. She worked in banking and as a realtor but spent most of her time creating a loving home for her family. She was an artist and shared her creativity by painting, drawing, sewing, and baking. She attended Bee Ridge Baptist Church until illness no longer allowed her to leave home. She will be missed by her family and many friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at Toale Brothers Gulf Gate Chapel on Wednesday, February 1, 2023. Visitation will begin at 10:00 with service at 11:00 followed by a Celebration of Life Luncheon at their church. The service will be officiated by Pastor Ben Davis and interment will be at the Sarasota National Cemetery.
Bette loved to be around people and was an inspiration and encourager to many. She was proud of her family and loved to celebrate their every achievement, especially by cooking a big meal and making a special dessert! May her memory be a blessing to all who knew and loved her.
