Savannah Woods Johnson, age 36, of Helena, Alabama, went to be with her Lord and Savior peacefully on August 14th, 2024, at home surrounded by her family and special friends.

Savannah was born September 17th, 1987, in Northport, Alabama to her parents Johnnie and Vickie Woods. After graduating high school from Southern Academy, Class of 2006, she went on to complete her bachelor's degree in Communicated Disorders at the University of Alabama, Class of 2011.

Savannah and Michael were married in 2012 and moved to Chattanooga, Tennessee where she received her nursing degree from Chattanooga State Community College. A year and half later, they moved back home to Alabama where Savannah worked several years as a nurse at Med Center Hoover.

When her first child was born, Savannah stepped into her true calling of being a stay-at-home mom. It was clear to everyone around her that motherhood was her greatest joy. She loved her children fiercely and never ceased advocating for them and reminding them of who God created them to be. Her kindness and gentle spirit live on in their sparkling eyes and radiant smiles.

Savannah has always been a living example of God's love and her servant's heart was big, pure and compassionate. Savannah never missed an opportunity to show hospitality and many of her friends and family benefited from delicious home cooked meals prepared in her kitchen. She loved old music (like her dad), watching all the "I Love Lucy" reruns, and her small group at Hunter Street Baptist Church in Hoover. Most of all she loved the Lord and made sure her kids knew it too.

Throughout her 3.5-year battle with cancer, Savannah's faith and positivity never faltered. She knew without a doubt that whether she was healed on this side of Heaven, she would spend forever in the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Savannah fought with courage and handled adversity with strength and grace, often comforting her friends and family instead of needing to be comforted.

Savannah is preceded in death by her grandparents Lafayette Woods and Willie Averett Woods and Melvin Harris.

Savannah is survived by her husband Michael Johnson, her two children, Levi Johnson and Mary Evelyn Johnson. Her parents Johnnie and Vickie Woods, sister Allison Kelley (Sam) and grandmother Julia Harris.

Funeral services will be held August 19th, 2024, at Magnolia Chapel South Funeral Home at 1:00PM with Brother Kenneth Wyatt officiating. The Visitation will be one hour prior to service. Burial will follow at Antioch Baptist Church in Greensboro, Alabama with Brother Arthur Thomas officiating.

Pallbearers are Tim Harris, Danny Gann, Clint Woods, Patrick Morrison, Sam Kelley and Matt Billings.

Honorary pall barriers are Cindy Wilson, Daphne Harris, Laura Powell, Angie Gann, Reverend Elizabeth Hinton, Mary and Chris Lucas, Lauren Billings, Jay and Nina Bulter, Brian and Casey Cain, Patrick and Danielle Deavours, Andrew and Stephanie Carlise, Matthew and Jessica Johnson and Brother Brian Hinton.
