Scot Lawrence York (Dude), age 53, passed away in his sleep surrounded by family on Tuesday, September 17, 2024 after many years of battling cancer.
A celebration of life will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at the Ridges Golf Course in the banquet facility.
Scot was born on June 22, 1971 in Friendship, WI to Donald and Barbara York. He graduated from Adams-Friendship High School in 1990. After graduation, he worked for various road construction companies across the state of Wisconsin. He started with the City of Wisconsin Rapids in 2003 where he continued to work as a Heavy Equipment Operator until early retirement.
Scot loved hanging out and having drinks with friends and family. He was known for his love of duck hunting, training his dogs, deer hunting, trips to Mexico, and boating.
Scot is survived by his wife Danielle whom he was married to for 27 years and his sons Skyler and Logan.
He is also survived by his mother, Barbara (Michael) Kroetz, his brother Brent (Jalane) York, Ryan York (nephew), Colin York (nephew), Chris and Deanne Neufeld (sister and brother-in-law), Trevor Neufeld (nephew), Ciera (Cory) Neufeld (niece), Virjean Renner (mother-in-law), Darrell (Tammy) Renner (father-in-law), and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Donald York, Clarence and Viola York (grandparents), Laurence and Betty Lobenstein (grandparents), Susan Lobenstein (aunt), Michael Lobenstein (uncle), Robert York (uncle), Michael Lobenstein Jr. (cousin), and Christina Lobenstein (cousin).
Special thanks to all family and friends who helped care for Scot and his family. Also thanks to Aspirus Stevens Point ER and Hospital for all their wonderful care.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to Swing Against Cancer (local cancer charity) in honor of Scot "Dude" York or a donation to Scot's family for a memorial tree to be planted in their yard.
