Scott Eric Anderson, 57, a lifelong Nashua resident, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, February 8, 2024 due to complications from diabetes.
He was a son of the late Clayton A. and Joanne F. (Belanger) Anderson. Scott was a graduate of Nashua High School Class of 1984 and furthered his education at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and Plymouth State College.
Scott began his career at Nashua Corporation, where he was employed for twenty years. He was currently an assistant manager at Five Guys, working at both the Daniel Webster Highway South and Amherst Street restaurants.
Members of his family include his brothers and their wives, Frank H. and Margaret Anderson of Goffstown and Jim E. Anderson and Dr. Peggy S. McKinnon-Anderson of Stratham; a niece, Amelia; three nephews, David, John and Michael; and many cousins.
Scott was a man whose infectious laughter and boundless generosity illuminated the lives of countless individuals. Above all, his heart belonged to his loved ones. His niece and nephews, Amelia, David, John, and Michael, were the twinkling stars in his sky. He reveled in their childhood, not just sharing his passion for baseball and basketball, but weaving those passions into threads of connection and growth. Amelia's heartfelt words paint a vivid picture of the impact he had: "You were the kindest soul that I have ever known and you were my biggest supporter. You were such a selfless being and gave whatever you had when you could have used it more. You were my best friend and the best role model I could ever ask for. As you were an amazing basketball player yourself you always encouraged me and inspired me to be the best player I could be. I will play every game in honor of you." Though his coaching tips will be sorely missed, Scott's spirit of encouragement will forever echo in their hearts, urging them to strive for excellence with his unwavering belief in their potential.
Scott's generosity was great, often giving even when he had little. He took immense joy in seeing others happy, often going to great lengths to ensure their enjoyment. This stemmed from his own journey, one marked by resilience and triumph. Having overcome personal struggles, he carried a wisdom born from hard-won lessons. He readily shared these experiences, hoping to guide others away from similar pitfalls. He spoke fondly of mentoring young colleagues at work, using his past as a beacon to illuminate a brighter future.
Though competitive fire burned within him during his high school days, especially on the Nashua High and Coffey Post American Legion fields, his teammates and opponents will remember not just his fierce spirit, but the bond of friendship that endured long after the final whistle blew. He remained close to his buddies, cherishing the shared memories and camaraderie forged in the heat of competition.
To know Scott was to know loyalty, care, and a heart overflowing with warmth. He brought laughter and joy, leaving an indelible mark. While his absence leaves a void, his legacy of love, generosity, and infectious spirit will forever resonate. He will be laid to rest at Edgewood Cemetery near Holman Stadium, where his athletic spirit soared, a reminder of a life lived with passion and zest.
His funeral service and burial will be private. The family is planning a Celebration of His Life, that will be held at a later date. Donations may be made in Scott's memory to: The Nashua Police Athletic League, 52 Ash Street, Nashua, NH 03060. Knew Scott as a child and have been away from the area for many years. Growing up the Anderson family was always a joy to be around. Most of the time was spent with Frank but as his brothers grew up Scott and Jimbo always was in the mix. Always in the mix of everything and always polite and thoughtful back then. God bless the Anderson family and prayers out to them for their loss.

Scott was a " regular " at Castros Back Room in Nashua where I was fortunate to have met him. He was a genuine , nice guy whose life struggles made him a great teacher for kindness and humanity. He will be sorely missed.

I´m so sorry for your loss. Scott was such a nice and caring guy. We knew each other from working together at five guys in South Nashua and North Nashua for 5 years. We became close friends and he always asked about my girls. He will be forever missed!
