Scott Dailey, 60, of Taylorville, IL, passed away on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at his residence. Scott was born on March 29, 1965, the son of Laverne Dailey and Carolyn Lee Bethard. He married Leann Marie Lockwood, and she survives.

Scott was a truckdriver all his life. He loved being outside, cruising Lake Taylorville on his pontoon, riding his motorcycle, and spending time with his family and dogs.

He is survived by his mother: Carolyn Lee Yard; wife: Leann Lockwood Dailey of Taylorville, IL; his daughter: Erica Lynn Dailey of Taylorville, IL; his son: Wade Dailey and his fiancé Jacie Patton of Clarksdale, IL; grandchildren: Journey Dailey; Waylon Dailey; and Weston Dailey, all of Clarksdale, IL; his brother: Daniel "Dan" Dailey of Morrisonville, IL; as well as his two beloved dogs: Slim and Vegas.

Scott was preceded in death by his father, Laverne Dailey, his stepfather, Dewight Leroy Yard, his first wife, Sheri Perozzo Dailey, his sister, Cindy Dailey Bethard, and two dogs, Chopper and Raka.

Per the family's wishes, cremation rites have been accorded, and a visitation will be held on Thursday, August 21, 2025, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville, IL.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Christian County Animal Control located at 300 S. Baughman Road, Taylorville, IL 62568.

Scott was one of the first guys I got to know when I moved to Taylorville in 79' , we ran around on bicycles...wow long time ago!
I knew him through different periods in life as we crossed paths, shot pool ,told jokes.
