Scott Alan Dinsmore, affectionally known as "Scooter", of South Hadley, MA, passed away peacefully, in his home and surrounded by love on, Tuesday June 11, 2024 at the age of 70. He was born in Rantoul, Illinois and was the son of the late Earl John Dinsmore Jr and Patricia (Allen) Dinsmore. Scott adored his mother and they shared a beautiful bond. A day would not go by without you hearing him say he wanted to go to "momma's house". Scott attended Riverside Industries in East Hampton for 43 years. He loved participating in art projects, especially t-shirt making. He loved listening to The Beatles. His favorite song to listen to at Riverside was "Hey Jude". Scott was cared for by The Consortium, since 2003 where he lived a full life and made lasting impacts on everyone who knew him. Scott was an extremely strong person who faced numerous medical challenges throughout his life, however, whatever he was dealing with or pain he may have been in, he was always Scooter, kind and very affectionate. Hugs were one of his favorite ways to show love to those around him. He was a talented artist and his drawings have been displayed in local art shows as well as around his home and Riverside Industries. He was also a lover of all types of glasses and had a large collection both at home and at Riverside. If you came around him with glasses, you could bet on him making it his mission to get them off your face! Never without a fair trade though! He would offer you one of his for yours!! Scott is survived by his sister, Holly Dinsmore, brother, Roger Dinsmore, and his dear friends Robert (Bob) Senecal, Hector Escalera, and Miguel Izquierdo. He also leaves behind a community of care takers at The Consortium and Riverside Industries, who not only loved him but felt it was truly a blessing to know and to care for him. Scott's memorial service will take place on Sunday, July 14, 2024 at 1:00pm at the Beers and Story South Hadley Funeral Home, 646 Newton Street.
