Scott S. Duffy, MD, died August 25, 2025, at his home in Cumru Twp. at age 80.

He was born June 8, 1945, in Astoria, Oregon to the late Beatrice and John Duffy, but he lived most of his early life in Minersville, PA. He was predeceased by a brother, Craig.

He was married to the love of his life, Elizabeth (Vogel) for thirty years, and she survives him. He is also survived by three sons: Jeffry and his wife, Lina, of Philadelphia; Matthew of Cambridge, MA; and Jonathan of Wyomissing Hills, two stepsons, Sean Wallace of Reading and Ryan Wallace of Kauai. He is also survived by three grandchildren: Bleu Owens of Redwood Valley, CA, Kaina Wallace and Kaliki Wallace of Kauai.

Dr. Duffy was a graduate of Minersville High School, Bucknell University, where he was a member of Phi Sigma National Biology College Honorary, and Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. He served an internship and three-year medical residency at the Reading Hospital and Medical Center and was the chief resident from 1974-75. He then practiced internal medicine for thirty years and upon retirement worked as a hospitalist for Reading Hospital. He was active in the teaching program and won the teacher of the year award three times.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Reading Hospital & Medical Center.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, West Reading. At Scott's request, his family asks that you wear what makes you most comfortable. No dark clothing required. Condolences may be expressed at kuhnfuneralhomes.com.
