Scott Robert Eyre, of Bay City, MI passed away at age 56, on September 6, 2024, at his family cabin and personal sanctuary in Hale, MI. Scott was born on October 25, 1967, in Bay City, MI to Robert L. and Janice C. (Streu) Eyre. Scott graduated from John Glenn High School in 1985, and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science from Northwood University in 1990. He started his professional career as a District Executive for the Boy Scouts of America in Chicago IL. He returned to Michigan, and spent the rest of his 30-year career working for Meijer, Inc.

Scott served the Lord with a dedicated heart at the North Euclid Church of God since birth, and was treasurer of the church for 25 years until his passing. You could also count on him for help in the kitchen for church dinners, and participation on the Board of Elders.

Scott was invaluable to his family, taking care of both his parents as their health declined with age. He visited them daily, and was instrumental in his mom’s successful rehabilitation back to her home. Scott showed selfless devotion to his family and community, traits that were nurtured along his Boy Scout journey. He earned the top rank of Eagle Scout in 1984, and remained a volunteer for decades to follow. Many of his most cherished memories were spent with his family at Camp Rotary in Clare, MI. In his free time you could often find Scott cheering on the Dallas Cowboys and Detroit Tigers and Lions with his good friend Rob Corrion and his beloved dogs. He loved playing cards with family and was an avid reader, especially books by Stephen King or John Grisham. He enjoyed hunting season with his dad and brothers in Glennie, Mi. Scott is survived by his mother, Janice Eyre, of Bay City; his brothers, Glenn (Jennifer) of Laingsburg, MI and Mark (Kaaren) of Salem, MI; and two beloved nieces, Rachel and Autumn Eyre of Laingsburg, MI. He was predeceased by his father, Robert Eyre on August 1, and both sets of grandparents: Floyd and Helen Eyre; and Gordon and Helen Streu.

The funeral service will take place at the North Euclid Church of God, 3430 N. Euclid Avenue, Bay City, MI on Friday, September 13, at 1:00 p.m. with visitation at the church from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Church of God Memorial Fund in Scott’s honor.
