Scott Kamachi Funeral Service Livestream

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Lyndon "Scott" Kamachi on March 12, 2025, after a brave fight against cancer. Born on January 16, 1954, to Mike and Chiz Kamachi, Scott was the youngest of three children. He lived a life full of love, dedication, and kindness.
In his younger years, Scott was very active and involved in sports, including football and basketball. He loved being outdoors and developed a lifelong passion for fishing, hunting, and golfing. Scott was also very passionate about music, learning to play the guitar, drums, and anything he could tap his hands on to start a beat.
Scott graduated from South Fremont High School in 1972 and went on to attend Idaho State University, where he studied Psychology and Political Science. He first married Terra Lee Twigg, and they had a daughter, Amber Dawn Kamachi, who passed away as an infant. Scott and Terra later divorced. In 1980, Scott found love again and married Robin Danette Calonge. Together, they raised three children: Cade, Ryan and Tressa. Scott was a dedicated father who taught his kids the value of hard work and made sure to take them out hunting, fishing, golfing, skiing, or sharing his love for music when they weren't working. Scott and Robin later divorced.
Scott was then introduced to Glenda Lee Chapple, and they immediately hit it off. They dated for a short time and married in 1998. Glenda's three children, Rob, Mitch and Holly were quickly welcomed into the family by Scott. Glenda also loved Scott's kids as her own. Scott and Glenda enjoyed each other's company, whether working at the restaurant, attending concerts, taking trips to Jackpot, or simply spending time outside doing yard work and gardening.
Scott's career was dedicated to Chiz's, the family restaurant in St. Anthony. The restaurant quickly gained a cult following, becoming known throughout East Idaho (and even farther) for their battered shrimp and finger steaks. In addition to the freshest and highest quality food around, Scott also expanded the business to include off-site catering and partnering with local grocery stores to sell the family's famous salad dressing and dips. Scott was also a dedicated civil servant, spending multiple years on the St. Anthony City Council and later serving as a Fremont County Commissioner.
Scott was always proud of his children, stepchildren, and grandchildren. Once he closed the restaurant in 2016, he focused all his energy on his family. He made sure to be there for as many birthdays, dance recitals, sporting events, hunting and fishing trips, and any other events where he could spend time with family and friends. Scott's garden was also a point of pride; always planting more than he needed, he would share with neighbors, family, and friends.
Scott is survived by his beloved wife, Glenda Kamachi; his children, Cade (Lindsay) Kamachi of Odenton, MD, Ryan (Autumn) Kamachi of Salem, ID, and Tressa (Fred) Rawlins of Homosassa, FL; his stepchildren, Rob Chapple of Rexburg, ID, Mitch (Tara) Chapple of Rigby, ID, and Holly (Matt) Meikle of St. Anthony, ID; his mother, Chizuko "Chiz" Kamachi of St. Anthony, ID; his brother, Steve Kamachi of Burley, ID; 12 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandson. He was preceded in death by his father, Mike Kamachi; his sister, Terri Singleton; his daughter, Amber Dawn Kamachi; his granddaughter, Avery Leigh Kamachi; and his nephew, Slade Singleton.
A viewing will be held at the St. Anthony Stake Center on Tuesday, March 18th, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, March 19th, at 11:00 AM at the St. Anthony Stake Center, with a viewing prior from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM.
Scott will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family and his generous spirit. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
