Scott Jerod Guerrero, affectionately known as Scotty, 57, of San Marcos, Texas, passed away peacefully on August 19th, 2025, in Kyle, Texas.

Scotty was born in San Marcos, Texas on August 23rd, 1967. He graduated from San Marcos High school in 1985 and received a full scholarship to Austin Durham's Art College where he achieved his associates degree and graduated with top honors.

Scotty worked for Sign Arts where he personally hand painted 75% of all signage in the San Marcos area through Sign Arts clientele. He then moved on to working for Teed Shirts where he oversaw the flow of production. Ultimately ending up in the salesman world where he sold cars, furniture and liquidated furniture stores across the United States.

In his spare time, he loved to draw, and he was an incredible artist. He also enjoyed attending concerts such as KISS, Scorpions, Journey, Iron Maiden, and many more but his all-time favorite guitarist was Randy Rhoads. He was a devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys, San Antonio Spurs, and the Houston Astros and often attended games. He loved to be at the beach and enjoyed travelling to Columbia but most of all he was a simple man whose most joyous moments came from simply being surrounded by family and friends, getting lost in laughter and good times. He could talk to anyone and everyone, his kindness and inclusion would make everyone feel like they belonged. He was creative, witty, generous, and overall, such a positive, spirited soul. He will be greatly missed by so many people, but he will live on in all the lives that he touched.

Preceded in death by his beloved mother, Gloria Jean Guerrero; his grandparents, Paul "Honey" and Vera "Memo" Guerrero; and his cousins, Michelle Wright and Ricky G. Morales.

He is survived by his only brother, Paul J. Guerrero; sister-in-law, Chrissi Guerrero; nephew, Paul Hunter Guerrero; niece, Bren Guerrero (Colby Cantu); great-nephew, Axton Hunter Guerrero; and great-niece, Layton Jean Cantu. He is also survived by his three aunts, Lulu Abbott (Mike Abbott), Ruth Guerrero, and Irene Guerrero (James Guzman) and numerous cousins: Michael Wright (daughter, Lauren Wright), Lance Wright (children, Allyson and Jacob Wright), Francisco Morales (wife, Shelley Morales; children, Olivia and Max Morales), Gloria Prado (husband, Andy Prado; daughters Abrianna, Alexis, Ava, and Ashlynn Prado), and Jessica Hernandez (children, Anthony and Aleena Rivas). He also leaves behind the children of his late cousin Ricky, Elijah and Ayanna Morales.

The family of Scotty Guerrero would like to thank all his nurses and doctors at Ascension Seton Hays hospital from the floor nurses, ICU team, hospice care team and the numerous family and friends that showed up to visit and offer prayers, hope, and love.

Funeral arrangements are being finalized and will be announced soon.
