Scott A. Hewitt

Scott A. Hewitt, 61, of Austin, passed away at 6:25 a.m. on Saturday, May 13, 2023, at Our Hospice of South-Central Indiana. He was born on November 21, 1961, in Columbus, the son of Jerald and Beverly (Trotter) Hewitt. He was born and raised in Columbus and moved to Westport. Scott had worked in home construction and attended the First Church of God in Seymour. He enjoyed camping, fishing, mushroom hunting, and outdoor activities. He is survived by his mother, Beverly Hewitt of Westport; his daughters, Jessica Hewitt of Austin, Alyssa Hewitt of Westport, and Nichole Minor of Franklin; his sister, Kim Hewitt of Westport; his brother, Rodney Hewitt of Columbus; and his grandchildren, Kaydance Bales, Brooklyn Thompson, Sawyer Carmichael, Wyatt Minor, Weston Minor & Waylon Minor. He was preceded in death by his father, Jerald Hewitt. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at the Bass & Gasper Funeral Home in Westport. Pastor George Hamlin will be officiating. A private burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
