Scott R. Norbom, 67, of Washington, IL, passed away on February 10, 2026, at the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice home in Peoria after a brief illness.

He was born on November 26, 1958, in Peoria the son of Donald Evenlyn Hudson Norbom. Surviving are his son, Sam Norbom of Washington; his brother, Gary (Mindy) Norbom of Dunlap; and one nephew, Nick (Torie) Norbom, as well as two nieces, Michelle Norbom and Carrie (Mark) Geason. His parents and one brother have passed away before him.Scott Norbom lived life the way he loved it most outdoors, under an open sky, with a fishing pole in his hand or a golf club over his shoulder. Nature was his true home, and he was happiest on a perfect day spent casting a line into quiet waters or lining up a putt with his pals, chasing that elusive hole-in-one he was sure was just one swing away.

Scott had a deep love for adventure and the stories that came with it. He was never tired of reminiscing with his lifelong friends and family about fishing trips, golf outings, RV travels, and the unforgettable parties and moments that marked the best chapters of his life. His laughter was contagious, his smile ever-present, and his quick-witted, wonderfully ridiculous stories could get anyone laughing whether they'd heard them once or a dozen times before.

In retirement, Scott found joy spending his winters in Florida, traveling in his RV with his boat in tow. He explored parks across Florida and Alabama, making cherished friendships everywhere he went. Those seasons were filled with sunshine, water, fairways, and fellowship - exactly the way he would have written them.

More than anything, Scott loved passing on his passions to his son. Sharing time outdoors, teaching, laughing, and simply being together meant the world to him. He would have given anything to play one more round with his friends, cast one more line, and relive one more story - but the memories he created will live on in all who knew and loved him.

Scott will be remembered for his warmth, his humor, his storytelling, and the way he made life feel like one long, well-told adventure. His legacy lives on in every early morning tee time, every quiet cast across the water, and every laugh shared among friends.Cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of life is scheduled for Monday, February 23, 2026, at Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington from 4pm until 6pm. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to a charity of the donor's choice. Mason-White Funeral Home has been entrusted with cremation arrangements.
