Scott Osika

On October 26th, Scott Thomas Osika lost his battle to Esophageal Cancer. He passed away peacefully at home while surrounded by his loving friends and family.
Scott graduated from SUNY Plattsburgh in 2006 with a BS in Early Elementary Education and married Nicole Newell in 2011. He is survived by his beloved wife, and their two sons, Noah, age nine, and Asher, age six, who brought him immense joy and pride. Scott was a devoted family man, always seeking to create lasting memories with his children.
Scott is remembered as a compassionate person who loved his friends and family deeply. He was passionate about the outdoors and found solace in nature, spending countless hours enjoying activities like disc golf. His love for animals reflected his gentle and compassionate spirit.
Scott is survived by his beloved wife, Nicole, sons Noah and Asher; in-laws Brenda and Rickey Newell. Scott is also survived by his brothers: Brian Osika and his wife, Danyelle, along with their children, Blake and Gianna; and Kevin Osika and his wife, Erin Crowley, who share four children: Jordan, Hudson, Cooper, and Jaxon. His father, Thomas Osika, remembers him with love, while he was predeceased by his mother, Linda Osika, Charlotte Donlan, his Nana, and other beloved family members and friends.
Scott's family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time. Scott's story is not one of sorrow, but rather a celebration of a life that, though brief, was lived to the fullest.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday, October 30, 2024 from 10 to Noon at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru. A Mass of Christian burial follow at 12:30 PM in St. Augustine's Church in Peru with Rev. Christopher Looby, parish priest, celebrating. Committal prayers and burial will follow in the parish cemetery. A reception will be held on the same afternoon beginning at 3:30 PM at Irons Restaurant in West Chazy.
