Scott Overfelt Obituary

Scott E. Overfelt, age 59, of Wisconsin Rapids, WI, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 18, 2025, in Waushara County, WI, as a result of a tragic two vehicle automobile accident that was entirely beyond his control. His sudden passing has left a profound void in the lives of all who knew and loved him.
Scott was born on May 6, 1966, in Kirkwood, Missouri, to the late Richard and Myra (Smith) Overfelt. He married Jane M. Henricksen on June 23, 1990, in Clinton, IA. Over the years, Scott built a respected career as a Commercial Director for the Midwest Region with Hydrite Chemical Co. His dedication, integrity, and easygoing humor earned him lasting relationships with clients across the entire food and beverage industry.
Scott was deeply engaged in his community, especially when it came to supporting his children. He proudly served on the WRYSA board, including several years as president, overseeing baseball and softball programs. He devoted countless hours to coaching softball, baseball, and soccer, and was also an active member of the Wisconsin Rapids Hockey Booster Club.
Being a dad was Scott's favorite thing. He supported his kids endlessly – spent the winters building an ice hockey rink in the backyards for the kids and got wiffle balls out from the trees during the summer. He was there to tune up the car, mow the lawn, and put up the Christmas decorations.
Scott was an avid golfer who enjoyed spending time on the course with friends and family. He took great pride in smoking meats to perfection-especially the Thanksgiving turkey, a tradition the whole family looked forward to and deeply cherished. Music was another of Scott's joys, and he didn't hesitate to crank up his favorite tunes in the garage, even during the coldest Wisconsin winters. He had a love for card games, where his quick wit, laughter, and playful competitiveness always made him the life of the table.
As football season kicked off each year, Scott threw himself wholeheartedly into his fantasy league-tracking stats, strategizing trades, and cheering for his team. He remained a devoted fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and the Missouri Tigers, always cheering them on with pride, even in his divided household.
Above all, Scott treasured time spent with his family and friends, but being a Grandpa was his proudest accomplishment. His Granddaughter was the light of his life, and he would do anything for her. His warmth, humor, and devotion to those he loved will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Scott is survived by his wife, Jane Overfelt; his children, Andrew (Megan) Overfelt, Daniel (Jordan) Overfelt, and Megan Overfelt (fiancé Ryan Klismith); and his beloved granddaughter, Marley Overfelt. He is also survived by his sister, Ricki (Rick) Schwartz; his brother, Kevin (Tara) Overfelt; and many loving brothers and sisters-in-laws, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Myra Overfelt; his in-laws, Leonard and Jean Henricksen; his sister-in-law, Julie Overfelt; and his nephew, Corey Henricksen.
A celebration of Scott's life will be held beginning at 4:00 PM on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at the Ridges Golf Course and Banquet Facility in Wisconsin Rapids. Private family services will also be held.
The family encourages everyone attending the celebration of life to bring stories and memories of Scott to share. And in true Scott fashion, please come dressed in your best "Scott outfit"-whether it's shorts, athletic gear, your favorite baseball T-shirt, or something proudly sporting St. Louis Cardinals colors. Let's honor Scott the way he lived: with love, laughter, and genuine connection.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Overfelt family for a memorial to be set up in the future.

Although I retired from Hydrite 2 years ago, Scott was such an awesome person to work with. He always found a way to make you laugh during difficult work situations. My thoughts and prayers are with his family. He will be missed. Kris Millet
