Scott Clarence Petrie

Scott Clarence Petrie, lifelong resident of Jerome, MI, passed away on December 22, 2022. He was born on June 21, 1962, in Jackson, MI, the son of Robert and Shelvia Petrie.
Scott is survived by his loving wife, of 33 years, Kimberly; cherished parents, Robert and Shelvia Petrie; three siblings, Jeannie Kahl, Carol (Dave) Petersheim, Steve (Pam) Petrie; five dearly loved children, Emily (Johnathan) Bach, Jacob, Dustin, Amber and Lydia Petrie; five precious grandchildren, Andrew, Annabelle, Thomas, Philip, and Mya; along with many other very special family members and dear, dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his beloved grandparents, Clarence and Phyllis Petrie, Ezra and Gertrude Wireman; father-in-law, Mike Hart; brother-in-law Bill Kahl and two uncles, Jim Petrie and Robert Wireman.
Scott was a graduate of North Adams High School. A member of Faith Baptist Church in Chelsea. A lifelong farmer, volunteer firefighter for Somerset Township, Realtor/Broker, worked for the Jackson Housing Commission and started Green Energy LP with his father and nephew, Lynn Hartzler. He loved going to auctions and enjoyed collecting tractors, old farm equipment, and chainsaws. Scott was an extremely hard working, generous man who loved his family dearly. He had a big heart for missions. And he was encouraging to many and could talk to anyone. He got great joy out of blessing others and his sense of humor, generosity, and love touched so many.
A funeral service to honor the life of Scott Clarence Petrie, will be held at the Hampton Funeral Home, in Hillsdale, on Tuesday December 27, 2022, beginning at 12:00 noon, with Pastor Adam Summers and Pastor Jerry Gould officiating. A private interment will take place in the Rice Cemetery, in Moscow Township, MI, at a later date. The family will receive friends for visitation, at the funeral home in Hillsdale, on Tuesday, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Following the service, everyone is invited to a dinner at the Current Church, (formerly the Hillsdale Baptist Church) 2211 W. Bacon Rd. in Hillsdale.
In lieu of flowers those who wish may give memorial contributions to Child Evangelism Fellowship or Berean Armed Forces Ministries.
