He was born on September 20, 1967, in Golden Valley, Minnesota to Edward H. and Sharon (Rachner) Reinert. Scott earned his Bachelor of Science degree from St. Cloud State University in May 1997. Following graduation, he began a long and dedicated career with Grede LLC. in St. Cloud, MN where he rose to the position of Senior Technical Manager. He was admired by colleagues, and played a key role in numerous projects throughout his 29 year tenure.
Scott shared 22 loving years with his partner, Brenda Wenning. They were married on January 18, 2025. He was a proud and devoted stepfather to Katlin Traut. Scott found great joy in simple pleasures, especially quiet retreats to the family cabin on Sand Lake - days full of family fun, pontooning, bonfires, four-wheeling, snowmobiling, fishing, and biking. Friends and family knew him to be generous, kind-hearted, thoughtful and ever eager to lend a helping hand.
Scott is survived by his wife, Brenda; step-daughter Katlin; mother, Sharon; his sister, Julie (Fran) Schmitt; brothers Steve (Karin), Dennis (Shelly) and Greg. He shared a close extended family relationship with in-laws Jerry (Carol) Wenning, Brian (Char) Wenning, Nancy (Russ) Sand, Jeff (Tracy) Wenning, Kristy (Jared) Johnson. And many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward and his brother, Ron.
The family wishes to give special thanks to the Hematology and Oncology care teams at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN and to Coborn's Cancer Center in St. Cloud, MN.
Services will be held at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in St. Cloud on Friday, May 16th. Visitation will be held from 2-6 PM, with a short memorial at 5 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Mayo Clinic (in support of Cancer Research and Care), or to the River Valley Riders.
