Scott Allan Sundermeier, 30, of Perrysburg, passed away peacefully Tuesday, September 23, 2025.
He was born March 22, 1995, in Corpus Christi, Texas, to Brendt and Lisa (Shaffer) Sundermeier.
Scott was a Perrysburger his whole life. Starting at Woodland elementary, flashing his cheesy smile, and making friends everywhere. At Perrysburg High School he played football, ran cross country, and was an active member of the Cellar Media Club before graduating in 2013. Scott cherished his time with his fellow Jackets.
He went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Air Force, and attended Kent State University where he studied philosophy and writing.
Following his service and studies, he traveled the country and lived in California with close family friends, there he learned how to cultivate and harvest on farmlands. Scott loved plants and especially learning about the healing properties they possess. He became the owner-operator CEO of Grim City Cultivation and worked as a sales representative for Quality Roots.
He enjoyed fishing, hiking, billiards, playing video/board games with his family.
Scott also enjoyed spending time outdoors, deep conversations, music, art, and time with his friends. Scott also loved to travel, especially to his mothers parents home in West Virginia, he also loved traveling to California, Michigan, and on Lake Erie. His time exploring the Grand Canyon and Lake Tahoe cultivated his love for the history and plants of the region. Scott managed to learn something new everywhere he went, sharing the love and knowledge with his loved ones.
Scott is survived by his parents, Brendt and Lisa; his sister, Nicole (Mila and Lettie) and fur siblings, Binx, Teddy, and Luka; Wife India (Bob and Shane Smith, Stepson Clayton) and his fur babies Link, Zelda, and Kirby; Grandmothers, Constance Shaffer, Stephanie Sundermeier; and many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Robert (Pappy) Shaffer, and Edward Sundermeier. Scott will happily be united with his late cousin/brother Jacob Hazel, and a room full of wagging tails and purring, as animals were his greatest love.
Friends and family will be received Thursday, October 2, 2025, from 4–7 p.m. at Witzler-Shank-Walker Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary Street, Perrysburg, where a celebration of Scott’s life will be held at 7 p.m.
